Methods and tools for civil society

We have met a diverse array of civil society organizations, from informal groups to national and international organizations with a pervasive presence at the local level. Each has specific interests and expertise on the issues in which public policies intervene. Strength comes from unity: let’s plan for shared methods for verifying how public funds are spent and making one’s voice heard.

Public investments financed by European funds or the Recovery Plans concern our cities, our neighborhoods and the quality of our life. But the effectiveness of funded projects also depends on the ability to mobilize the experiences and skills of civil society. We offer tools to influence policy decisions, evaluate their effectiveness and confront public decision-makers

Monithon offers you:

  • Specialized skills on public policies programming and implementation

We have 10 years of experience in training groups and organizations on the mechanisms of public policies at the local, national and European level. We can help you select interesting projects to monitor, set up your work, or throughout the whole monitoring process.

  • Robust methodologies for a participatory evaluation of how public funding are spent

We have been working with journalists, public policy experts, students, teachers, and university instructors. Based on the time you have, you can choose whether to just analyze the documents, or collect data in the field through interviews, questionnaires, or pay a visit to the project you want monitor.

  • An interactive platform that guides you through data collection and analysis

The collection of standard information from civic monitoring allows you to give solid foundations to your judgments and suggestions, compare your results with those of hundreds of other communities and connect to a vast national and international network.. Our platform can be tailored to your needs and allows you to choose which aspects to focus on.

You are the protagonists

Each organization or monitoring group has a web page with its own logo and content. We can think together of further ways to enhance your work. The structure of the monitoring report is flexible and adapts to your needs, even without completing all the steps

Strengthen your messages

Civic monitoring reports are a robust foundation for communicating results, growing communities, and making your voice heard. Using a rigorous method reinforces your messages through the collection of data and objective evidence.

Verified Quality

Civic Monitoring reports have a standard format to allow for comparisons and aggregated analysis. Before publication, our editorial staff checks that judgments and suggestions are based on evidence and verifies the impartiality of the monitoring subjects. However, the contents, judgments, and suggestions are yours!
